CLose to me
Close To Me begins with research into vitiligo and examines how skin difference affects the way the body is perceived and approached. While similar color variations and patterns are often easily accepted in clothing, they can become sites of tension when they appear on skin. This contrast led me to question whether difference is inherently visual, or if it emerges from the relationship between skin and clothing. Through draping, I explored how garments can physically stay close to the body, using interwoven spaces and layered structures to soften the boundary between clothing and skin. Constructed from multiple layers of closely fitted materials, the garments maintain intimacy with the body while allowing subtle spatial depth. Visual characteristics of vitiligo are translated into structure and texture, allowing clothing to function not as concealment or correction, but as a gentle presence that stays close to the body and makes difference feel more approachable.
